Cogs and Clouds is a saxophone ensemble piece inspired by the fascinating interplay between the mechanical and the natural, as seen in the physics process known as a Cloud Chamber, where ionizing radiation creates beautiful vapor trails resembling clouds. The composition reflects this blend of precision and fluidity, with jagged, machine-like rhythms contrasting against hazy, floating textures. These varied soundscapes evoke both the mechanical workings of the process and the organic beauty it produces.
